Meet the Locals

This is an April 1 announcement.

At GJ Travel, we continuously develop new ways to connect our guests with Iceland’s nature, culture, and local life. While the idea of welcoming Icelandic sheep on board may sound appealing, it will not be introduced on our scheduled departures.

Icelandic sheep free roaming
Icelandic sheep roam freely during warmer months in Iceland.

Icelandic sheep will continue to travel independently across the country, as they always have, free roaming and well adapted to the Icelandic landscape.

Our focus remains on delivering well planned itineraries, strong guiding, and comfortable travel experiences across Iceland.

For updates on what is actually joining our departures, we recommend staying connected through our newsletter.

→ All seats on our scheduled coach tours remain reserved for our guests (humans).
→ Sheep continue to follow their own itinerary across Iceland.
→ Our approach remains rooted in responsible travel and respect for Iceland’s nature and wildlife.

Private group visits to farms can, however, be arranged, please contact our groups department.
