Day 1: Welcome to Iceland50 km / 31 mi

Upon arrival at Keflavík International Airport, you will be welcomed by your driver and guide for the transfer to Reykjavík.

During the journey, your guide will introduce you to Iceland, share practical information for the days ahead, and point out highlights along the way. After checking in to your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to relax or begin exploring Reykjavík at your own pace. Wander through the charming city centre, visit local landmarks, or enjoy one of the city’s many cafés and restaurants.

Day 2: The Golden Circle220 km / 137 mi

The journey begins with a short sightseeing tour of Reykjavík before heading to Iceland’s famous Golden Circle.

Visit Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Iceland’s first parliament was founded over 1,000 years ago and where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Continue to the Geysir geothermal area, where the active Strokkur geyser erupts every few minutes, before visiting the spectacular Gullfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic natural attractions.

The day also includes a stop at the colourful volcanic crater Kerið, whose lake-filled caldera provides a striking contrast to the surrounding landscape.

After dinner, weather and sky conditions permitting, there is an excellent opportunity to search for the Northern Lights away from city lights. Overnight stay in South Iceland.

Day 3: Vatnajökull National Park, Glacier Lagoon & Optional Ice Cave385 km / 239 mi

Today’s route leads through Southeast Iceland to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where floating icebergs drift across crystal-clear waters before reaching nearby Diamond Beach, where glistening ice sculptures rest on the black volcanic sand.
The journey continues through Vatnajökull National Park, home to Europe’s largest glacier, dramatic mountain scenery and vast glacial landscapes. Seals are often spotted swimming among the icebergs.
In the evening, the Northern Lights educational programme offers fascinating insights into one of Iceland’s most remarkable natural phenomena, followed by another opportunity to search for the aurora if conditions are favourable.
From mid-November to mid-March, an optional ice cave adventure beneath Vatnajökull Glacier is available.

Day 4: South Coast & Icelandic Lava Show305 km / 189 mi

Travel west along Iceland’s spectacular South Coast, beginning with a visit to the award-winning Icelandic Lava Show in Vík, the only place in the world where real molten lava is recreated in a safe indoor setting.

Continue to the famous black sand beach at Reynisfjara, renowned for its basalt columns, powerful Atlantic waves and dramatic coastal scenery. The route then passes beneath Mýrdalsjökull Glacier and the volcano Eyjafjallajökull, with stops at the impressive waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, where it is possible to walk behind the cascading water.

Return to Reykjavík for the final overnight stay. Depending on weather conditions, an optional Northern Lights excursion by boat or coach can be arranged.
