Imagine Reykjavík October 9th – December 8th

This year on October 9th there will be a series of events organized all around the city of Reykjavik as it was 2010. Lennon Tribute in Viðey island – IMAGINE REYKJAVIK. Furthermore there will be a sequence of Lennon Tributes in Viðey island with scheduled departures on following dates:
October 9th, October 14th, October 21th, November 4th and November 18th .
The Lennon Tributes are a combination of world class dining, music, acting and storytelling dedicated to John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s life ambition. The ferry departs from Skarfabakki pier in Sundahöfn harbour to Viðey island at 18:45 on these dates. In Viðey island you will be greeted and accompany you to Viðeyjarstofa House, the first building constructed of stone in Iceland and home to one of the most charming restaurants in the country. Chef de Cuisine Friðgeir Ingi Eiríksson of the Gallery Restaurant has carefully selected what were Lennon’s favourite ingredients based on his lyrics and lifestyle creating a delicious three course meal. After enjoying the dinner you will be taken through the history, life and aspiration of Lennon and Ono continuing campaign for world peace – which began in the sixties, was sealed by their marriage in 1969 and will continue forever. Jón Ólafsson, a well known Icelandic singer, song writer and musician, and his group of artists will take you through a unique tribute to John Lennon performed with music and acting where love and peace are the main theme. After the performance you will be guided to the Imagine Peace Tower for a closer look at this magnificent work of art that gives light and power to the realization of World Peace, Lennon and Ono’s lifetime wish.

IMAGINE PEACE TOUR every evenging from Oct 9th – Dec 8th 2011
A guided tour in Viðey island where history, nature and art are united in this fascinating tour. We pick you up from your hotel and bring you by bus to Skarfabakki pier where our captain and guide will sail with you to Viðey island. The sailing just takes about 5 minutes and then our guide will walk with you to the Imagine Peace Tower where you will learn about this magnificent work of art and John Lennon and even listen to one of his songs. If you are lucky you might even see some Northern lights shimmering above you! Pick up from your hotel, guided tour and sailing: Adult 30 Euros / 5.000 ISK Child (7-15 years old) 20 Euros / 3.000 ISK Child (0-6 years old)
