The Grand tour of Greenland starts in beautiful South Greenland with the remains and history of the Vikings, the colourful wooden houses surrounded by deep blue fiords where calving glaciers produce icebergs in all shapes and colours. Nuuk, the capital of Greenland with its modern and still traditional life style. Tour ends in Ilulissat - the town of the Icebergs with the breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Site; Ilulissat Ice Fiord.

Qaqortoq is the biggest town in South Greenland. Situated near the big lake "Storesøen" with rising mountains in the outback of the city. Old colony houses show the history of the town, while new big modern houses rises up along the cliff wall, all with splendid views over the open sea.

The Greenland Capital, Nuuk
A modern town in the Arctic, the centre of the Greenlandic administration and the site of the famous Greenland National Museum.

Ilulissat
Town of the giant icebergs and home of the UNESCO designated Ilulissat Ice Fiord. This is the third largest town in Greenland and a really big city where modern life meets old fashion life style, all surrounded by amazing nature. Here, ice is the main theme; get close to the icy giants covered in the rays of the midnight sun on an amazing Ice Fiord cruise, join a full day boat excursion to the calving glacier: Eqip Sermia or discover the full length of the ice filled Kangia Ice Fiord on a helicopter trip flying in low altitude over the Fiord. You can also visit some of the remote settlements where fishing and hunting still provide for the living.

Air Iceland flight from Reykjavik Domestic Airport to Narsarsuaq. Transfer from the airport to the pier and by boat through Eric's Fiord to Qaqortoq. Meet and greet by a local guide. Transfer to the hotel for check-in. Information and welcome meeting followed by short city tour of Qaqortoq.

Currency and credit cards: Important to bring Danish Kronas to Greenland. Foreign currency is not everywhere accepted. Credit cards are accepted only at few locations. i.e. at the hotels and larger stores. Using credit and debit card, an PIN-code is required.

Trips to Greenland are always subject to weather conditions. Delays and flight cancellations can happen. Therefore we stronly recommend you to buy a travel insurance in the country of residence that would cover any additional travel expenses, should your flights be delayed or cancelled due to weather. We recommend not to book any international flight directly after a trip from Greenland.
