This tour will take you around the Golden Triangle of South Greenland covering most aspects of Greenlandic history, the great variety of nature and everyday life in a modern town as well as in a traditional hunter’s village. This is an semi-escorted tour that includes welcome meeting and guided city walk in Qaqortoq, Narsaq and Narsarsuaq. Optional day tours can be booked in advance or on spot in South Greenland with the local tour representative.

Qaqortoq
Qaqortoq is the biggest town in South Greenland. Situated near the big lake "Storesøen" with rising mountains in the outback of the city. Many students come here to study, and therefore the town is full of life most of the year. FIFA have decided to sponsor the only Grass covered soccer field in Greenland. Old colony houses show the history of the town, while new big modern houses rises up along the cliff wall, all with splendid views over the open sea. A real town of contrasts.

Narsaq
Narsaq is a typical Greenlandic town with small wooden houses painted in bright colours on the shores of Narsaq Sund, where white icebergs are floating in the deep blue water. Narsaq has a very interesting museum area around the old harbour. Many walking possibilities to the Viking ruins at Dyrnæs and to points of great geological interest.

Narsarsuaq
Historic sites from the Viking Age, fertile mountains with sheep farms, deep blue fiords with multi-coloured icebergs, calving glaciers - and everything within short range from your hotel. Narsarsuaq offers the most varied excursion programme in Greenland: Iceberg & Glacier Cruises, Hiking tours to the Inland Ice Cap, Viking Ruins, tiny settlements and Greenlandic towns.

Thursday
13:45-14:45 Air Iceland flight from Reykjavik Domestic Airport to Narsarsuaq. Transfer from the airport to the pier and travel by boat about 2 hours through Eric's Fiord to Qaqortoq. Meet and greet by a local tour guide. Transfer to the hotel for check-in. Information meeting and guided city walk. This little town is located between high mountains on an little island, close to norse ruins and hot springs and is full of old history and modern development.

Sunday
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to pier for boat transfer to Narsaq, Transfer to Hotel for check-in and guided city walk. Narsaq is the second largest town in South Greenland with a population of approx. 1800. It is beautifully situated at the bay of Narsaq often filled with icebergs.

Tuesday
Breakfast at Restaurant Klara. Transfer to Narsaq harbour and by boat through the icefilled Eric's Fiord to Narsarsuaq. Transfer to the hotel for check in, information meeting and tour of Narsarsuaq. Narsarsuaq with its international airport is the gateway to South Greenland. It is situated at the end of Erics Fiord next to the original settlement of Eric the Red and the beautiful Qooroq glacier.
Optional excursions during stay in Narsarsuaq:
• Eric the Red's Viking Ruins
• The Village of Igaliku
• Qooroq Ice Fiord
• By Helicopter to the Ice Cap (Operation is depending upon the weather and helicopter capacity. Only to be booked locally!)

Currency and credit cards: Important to bring Danish Kronas to Greenland. Foreign currency is not everywhere accepted. Credit cards are accepted only at few locations. i.e. at the hotels and larger stores. Using credit and debit card, an PIN-code is required.
