Children’s Culture Festival 19-25 April The Reykjavik Children’s Culture Festival will take place for the first time from 19 to 25 April 2010. The festival is about children’s culture, culture for children and culture with children. Reaching all corners of Reykjavík city from the slopes of Mt. Esja to the bottom of the swimming pools, the festival is meant to become an annual event. Highlights include an opening parade in Hljómskálagarður park, The Adventure Hall at Fríkirkjuvegur with exhibitions, workshops, concerts, dance and theatre, neighbourhood festivities on the First Day of Summer (a traditional Icelandic holiday), International Children's Day at Gerðuberg Cultural Centre, a family hike up Esja mountain and a brass band concert for kids at the Icelandic Opera.
